This Saturday there will be a benefit concert in downtown St. Pete at FUBAR Downtown (658 Central Ave.)
Organizers say 100% of door sales and a large percentage of all other sales from the night to GreaterGood.org (aiding the Greater New Orleans Fund) and the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary. A total of ten local bands will be performing, including the punk band Elysium.
Tom Shelter, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band, said discussions for such a benefit began back in June. He said that he asked a handful of groups to participate," and the others started to jump out of the blue to get involved."
The groups St.Pete for Peace and some environmental groups will also have a presence at the event. There will be raffle games, and Shelton says " a wet t-shirt contest," so be prepared.
