With voting by mail now occurring and the polls showing a dead-even race, you can bet that Rick Scott and Charlie Crist are going to pull out everything they have with less than four weeks to go before election day in Florida – and that means more negative advertising.

The Scott camp today announced that they are now running an ad called "Corrupt," and are billing it as the ad that "Charlie Crist doesn't want you to see."

That's for sure, as the Crist camp released a point-by-point takedown of the ad, before it was even released.

"Every individual claim in this latest ad has been debunked," said Crist spokesman Brendan Gilligan. "This ad is full of lies and innuendo – and no facts. As such, later today we will send a letter to every station in the state demanding they pull down or refuse to air the ad."

Here is a the point-by-point critique of the ad by Team Crist:

Crist is accused of selling judgeships.

No Evidence Rothstein Controlled Judicial Appointments. “But we also failed to find hard evidence that Rothstein actually controlled Crist’s judicial appointments as the ad claims.” [Politifact, 8/25/14]

Crist’s top political advisor, Jim Greer. Jailed for corruption.

Judge: Governor Crist Not on Trial. “Greer had pleaded guilty six weeks ago to stealing $125,000 from the state party while serving as its chairman. The crimes: four counts of theft and one of money laundering. Defense attorney Damon Chase… said that had the trial gone forward, he would have proved… that the then-governor had approved of Greer's plan… ‘Well … former Governor Crist is not on trial here, is he?’ the judge asked. ‘That's right,’ Chase said.” [Orlando Sentinel, 3/27/13]

Crist’s top fundraiser, Alan Mendelsohn. Jailed for corruption.

Crist Was Not Questioned in Mendelsohn Case. “It's part of the effort to determine the scope of a Justice Department probe into Alan Mendelsohn… the inquiry doesn't reach… the governor's office.” [Tampa Bay Times, 12/10/09]

Crist’s biggest donor, Scott Rothstein. Jailed for corruption.

Republican Claims About Rothstein Rated “Pants on Fire.” “However, the way the accusation was framed in the ad leaves viewers with the impression that Crist was part of Rothstein’s criminal Ponzi scheme — he was not. The ad’s equation of the two is ridiculous, so we rate the claim Pants on Fire!” [Politifact, 9/22/14]

And now Crist is embroiled in a fraud case for steering taxpayer money to a de facto Ponzi scheme.

Scott-Led Lawsuit Came After Crist Was Proved to Have Broken No Laws. “The lawsuit, however, comes 16 months after Scott's inspector general released a report shedding light on the deal but concluding that Crist and a former legislator, Tampa Republican Kevin Ambler, had broken no laws.” [Orlando Sentinel, 7/27/14]
