This is the last work day of winter 2010-2011 – and being someone who doesn't love the heat and humidity here in Florida, I for one, will miss it.
But there's so much happening in the news, such as the last Tampa mayoral debate. That takes place this afternoon from the WEDU studios, with the Rob Lorei moderated forum airing of Florida This Week at 8:30 p.m and again on Sunday at 12:30. Another taped debate that has some interesting moments will be the Hillsborough League of Women Voters debate that was recorded a week ago, and includes yours truly as one of the panelists. That airs one last time this Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. on Channel 615 on Bright House, Channel 15 on Verizon.
We lead today with some international news that has a Florida angle; the UN Security Council voted to approve a fly-zone over Libya -something that should make Marco Rubio happy, since he was all in the face of a State department official about it yesterday. Or will he be pleased?
We've got two posts on Hillsborough area State Senator Jim Norman up today. One was news CL broke from our contributor George Niemann – that a state ethics investigation will happen at sometime on the former County Commission. We've also got a post on how his initial bill in Tallahassee is creating all sorts of controversy across the country.
