Although the news broke during the middle of the day yesterday, the fact that the 3rd DCA of Florida affirmed the earlier Miami Dade County ruling that Florida's law against gay adoption – the only such law in the country -is unconstitutional, needs to be front page news across the Sunshine State today. Most officials think it will ultimately be decided by the Florida Supreme Court, and it probably should, since that would bring some finality to this process.
Today there is big news on the Marco Rubio front: Two front page stories in both the St. Pete Times and the Tampa Tribune that are not favorable towards the former House Speaker. Coupled with another major story on Rubio's finances by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune on Sunday, the question is: can his opponents seize on these reports and get some traction in the U.S. Senate race?
The Trib's story is about an anecdote that CL's own Chris Ingram is busting Rubio on: Chris has his own blog post on the whole matter that is must reading.
And we also wrote last night that though Rick Scott has committed to a debate with Alex Sink on USF campus a week before the election that will be broadcast on CNN, she and her other Democratic cabinet candidates still want more debates with their GOP opponents.
