Tampa activist and protester Getulio Gonzalez-Mulattieriis isfocusing his energy on community events, and tomorrow, August 14, he’ll be in MacFarlane Park to host a community teach-in and cookout that will also feature talks Hillsborough County Commission candidate Sky U. White, photographer and activist Keto Nord, plus others.

Topics on the agenda include gentrification, civic engagement, education disparities, universal healthcare, climate justice and efforts to defund the police while refunding the community. Sounds like a conservative snowflake nightmare, but that’s OK because Gonzalez-Mulattieriis and co-organizers are asking attendees to wear a mask and social distance when possible.

The community teach-in and cookout happens at MacFarlane Park—located at 17000 N. MacDill Ave. near West Tampa—and runs from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. More information is available directly from Gonzalez-Mulattieriis who can be reached by phone (813-629-3810) and via email at community@teachinandcookout.com.
