Florida Republican gubernatorial candidates Rick Scott and Bill McCollum formally agreed today to participate in two televised debates next month – and possibly a third one.
In a letter sent by McCollum Senior Adviser Doyle Bartlett to Scott campaign manager Susan Wiles, the candidates have agreed to debate in Miami on Monday, August 2, at the studios of Univision, which should be be fun venue to hear them discuss immigration issues.
They will also debate in Tampa on Thursday, August 5, at Fox 13 affiliate WTVT.
cotts campaign have confirmed participation in two debates. We are continuing to discuss the third proposed debate.
The McCollum camp, trailing Scott in recent polls but confident that they can make up that deficit in debates, is also proposing a third encounter on Wednesday, August 11 in Orlando. There has been no confirmation on that date yet.
