THE MUSICAL LINEUP

Curated by Jack Spatafora/Aestheticized

The Cantina (ground floor)

8 p.m.: Roppongi's Ace

A musical bouillabaisse of rawky blues, salacious funk and euphonic folk-inspired tunes pureed into trio-fied rock from Tampa.

9 p.m.: The Postmarks

Lush indie-electro-folk-pop from Miami that references the orchestral and arranging genius of Brian Wilson and Burt Bacharach, as well as the soundtracks of John Barry and classic French pop. Recommended for fans of Belle and Sebastian, Air, Stereolab.

9:40 p.m.: Moving Current Dance Collective

Tampa Bay's top modern dance company steps onto the Cantina dance floor for a Sensory Overloaded improv that moves with the music — and the crowd.

10 p.m.: Six Parts Seven

Atmospheric instrumental/post-rock outfit who've played Tampa several times with great bands like TV On The Radio and Riddle of Steel.

11 p.m.: Smalltown DJs

Party-starting, body-rocking mash-up Canadian DJ/producer duo that's making major moves within the post-Hollertronix dance party/club culture underground. Mike Grimes and Pete Emes incorporate a mix of hip-hop, funk, pop, indie rock, house, b-more club, dancehall and more that always moves the crowd. Recommended for fans of Diplo, A-Trak and Z-Trip.

Midnight: Soulphonics

A raw and honest funk/soul/R&B revue from Gainesville that numbers nine-plus members, including two singers (Wester Joseph and Ruby Velle) plus a whole mess of keys, guitars, drums and horns. Steadfastly dedicated to keeping the torch burning from the originators: James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Dyke & The Blazers, etc.

Interludes/set breaks throughout: DJ Blenda
