A charter plane made an emergency landing on St. Pete's 18th Avenue South, hitting two cars, sustaining a ton of damage and sending four people to the hospital. But still, when a plane crashes into a road in a densely populated area and nobody goes to the morgue, that's pretty much time for drinks all around.
Pasco Middle and High Schools were put into a "controlled campus" situation and "their active threat plan was implemented" when a student with a gun was spotted as class was letting out for the day. Yeah, we have normalized technical terminology for that in America now. Because it happens all the fucking time.
And finally, when somebody in Michigan or Colorado says, "Hey, did you hear about that guy who shot two people, hit their 61-year-old mother with a shovel and then set their trailer on fire," nobody has to ask which state it happened in. Everybody knows.
