Not even The Greatest Show on Earth can compete with arguing politics on Facebook.
The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus began its final run of shows ever in the Tampa Bay area. This melancholy story will not make animal rights activists feel guilty. It won't make them feel anything, because it's not a video of a friendly pig living in a house like a dog and not being eaten.
A student at Lakewood High School in St. Pete was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds after a picture of him holding a pellet gun was posted to social media. "This is a mistake I have to make for myself," the student didn't say, "instead of deciding it's maybe not a great idea after watching like 50 other kids suffer the consequences for pulling the same dumbshit move." Well, school is supposed to be where you learn things — let's hope he learned things.
A Hernando County father and daughter were arrested and face drug and weapons charges in a multi-agency raid in Brooksville that followed a year-long undercover investigation. Not to be a dick, but this story kinda reads like "Super Expensive Anti-Domestic Terror Operation Nets 2 Tweakers, No Explosives" might also be an accurate headline.
And finally, Busch Gardens has discontinued its annual Grad Nite tradition, presumably because the park has determined that there's no profit in keeping all those rides up and running while teenagers wander between them looking for a secluded spot to smoke a blunt and discuss who might have booze.
