Don't look back in anger, but definitely look back. You might learn something.

St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman announced he's joining 11 other city leaders across Florida in a lawsuit against Rick Scott that opposes the state's law threatening to punish municipalities for enacting local gun regulations. Is it inappropriate to call that a shot across the bow? It probably is, isn't it?

Speaking of legalities, one of CL's favorite longtime local troublemakers (and we mean that in the best way), Joe Redner, won his case against the state health department — Joe's got lung cancer, and sued to grow his own medical marijuana, charging that the health department has been noncompliant with Florida's new constitutional amendment legalizing use. (Spoiler alert: It has.) He can't grow ahead with this yet (heh) because of the state's appeal, but it's an important case, and hopefully one that sets a precedent leading to others getting the medication that helps them. Thanks again, Joe.

A 60-year-old Tampa man was arrested for allegedly detonating a pipe bomb in the backyard of a semi-urban home on Columbus Drive. Cops and ATF weren't able to determine any malicious intent, but a police spokesman gifted with a serious knack for deadpan understatement said that even blowing up a pipe bomb in the yard for fun was "a problem." Yes. Yes it is.

And finally, it's been a while since we got one about a first responder being taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to a hospital, only to rip out their medical equipment, try to make a run for it and get seriously subdued. So here's this. Work hard, play hard, I guess.
