The weekend that was:
FRIDAY, APRIL 13:
A 59-year-old Dunedin man was arrested for DUI after hitting two people and crashing into a tiki bar during Palm Harbor's Citrus Festival. This is probably the kind of thing that resulted in his driver's license already being revoked for life. For life!
Forty-year-old Tampa Bay artist Matt Callahan died in the hospital Friday night after being found unresponsive on a Gandy Boulevard median. It's suspected that he sustained his injuries in a fight. Our deepest sympathies go out to Matt's family and friends. Take care of each other out there, people.
It's cool that you want to try to run a nonprofit animal shelter out of your house and all, but seriously, if things start to get away from you a little bit, reach out for some help before you have 28 dogs seized and your feces-encrusted home is deemed unfit for habitation. There's a lot of space between those two things, for sure.
SATURDAY, APRIL 14:
The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the New Jersey Devils 5-3 in the second game of their first-round playoff series. Steve is suddenly super-interested in local hockey, and claims to have been a fan all along. Shut up, Steve. You're fooling nobody.
SUNDAY, APRIL 15:
A few homes in St. Pete were damaged and lost power during Sunday's storm, possibly due to a tornado touching down. One would think one would know for sure if a fucking tornado hit one's house.
And finally, the storm also caused Clearwater's Sugar Sand Festival to suspend its Sunday activities, because sugar sand is not super fun when it's being blown into your eyes by a fucking tornado.
