The persistence of Monday.
A senior at Riverview High School is in trouble after posting a very obviously racist prom proposal to social media. Not "racially charged," not "troubling," not "a matter of concern." I'm not saying the kid is racist, but the sentiment, unarguably, is, and if he thought it was funny and a good idea, he's too dumb to date.
If you ever thought making a shamelessly avaricious and demonstrably bad businessman the president might someday present some tacky and scandalous conflicts of interest, well, duh. The latest? Federal Election Commission filings reveal that the Republican National Committee has enriched the Trump brand by more than a quarter of a million dollars it spent at his Florida resorts, holding fundraisers and the like. Didn't they used to bother to try and hide this stuff? I feel like they used to bother to try and hide this stuff.
After five years of complaints from neighbors, a Seffner resident with nearly $800,000 in code violations due to the junk in his yard will go to jail if he doesn't clean it up. Click through, check the pics and then give yourself a break for not doing your floors over the weekend.
And finally, a group of Winter Haven eighth graders raised enough money by themselves to pack 50 backpacks with badly needed hygiene and other supplies to send to Syrian refugees. It's a weird world where $1,200 can be so much more valuable to 50 people than $250,000 can be to one man. Nice job, kids.
