It's Thursday. The heavy lifting is done. You can watch baby otter videos to your heart's content for the next two days. Monday's going to suck anyway, why not procrastinate a little?

We can help you with that by shedding a little light on yesterday's highest highs and most depressing lows. Brace yourself.

Vice President Joe Biden was in town Wednesday to offer his glorious vision for the future of the Americas. He didn't name any creamsicle-hued bringers of doom in his lengthy speech, but he did decry calls for building walls and xenophobia while calling for basic decency and a spirit of internationalism, which is about the same thing.

Noted person-who-should-just-go-away-please George Zimmerman said Wednesday he is selling the gun he used to shoot and kill unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin on a gun auction site; bidding starts at $800 $5,000. We're not really sure how many more disgusting elements of American culture could be worked into that sentence. Perhaps he should engrave Trump 2016 somewhere on it and throw in a bald eagle-leather holster and a coupon for a deep-fried Cheez Whiz bacon burger.

In other depressing/disgusting news that ought to really compel us to reflect on who we are as a society, the group Oxfam has found that many employees of large-scale chicken "processing" operations have taken to wearing diapers after being regularly denied bathroom breaks. Okay, so, maybe the whole locavore thing can be a little over the top, but can we please, once in a while, ask where the fuck our food comes from, and how employees and animals are being treated, before we have to bring Upton Sinclair back from the dead?

And, finally, this video of baby otters was posted yesterday. Not sure what this guy is saying, but does it matter?
