Eventually, he rolled off of her with a sigh.

"It's OK," she said, reaching for the glass of wine on the nightstand. "We've had a lot to drink."

"It's not that." He sat up, lit a cigarette and dragged heavily. "I just can't stop thinking about Thursday."

Get ready to die from shock: The ACLU is suing Rick Scott and the Florida legislature over their new law requiring women who want an abortion to endure an additional 24-hour waiting period. And hey, lookit that — they didn't need to sleep on it or anything.

In other Florida legislative session news, Scott signed a bill finally removing a 40-year-old ban on gay adoption — one that hasn't been enforced for five years — from the state's law books. Well, SOMEBODY's gotta adopt all those extra kids that are gonna be born when all those women suddenly change their minds when given an extra day to think about their decision to have an abortion.

Venerable Plant City attraction Dinosaur World is expecting a spike in attendance due to the release of the new movie Jurassic World. Because nothing prepares a kid to accept the endless disappointments of real life quite like showing 'em Dinosaur World after they've seen Jurassic World.

Three people, including two felons, were arrested and 15 dogs were taken into custody during a drug raid in Spring Hill that netted a little pot, a little coke, and a butt-ton of pills and weapons, including shotguns and "improvised weapons" such as "a handgun with an axe zip-tied to it." You make bongs when you're high; these three were making Mad Max a reality.

And finally, the day took several great talents from us, and award-winning locally based photographer Bud Lee was one of them. I had the great fortune to work with Bud on a couple of projects during my early tenure at CL/Weekly Planet, and the man's engaging eccentricity and wide-eyed love for life were truly inspiring. The world is the less for his passing, and I know he will be greatly missed by the many, many people he touched.
