The weekend's almost here. And I just realized what a terrible word "almost" can be.
The U.S. Supreme Court voted in favor of maintaining federal health care subsidies, meaning millions of Americans in states without exchanges will get to keep their coverage. Socialism! Erosion of our nation's moral fiber! Big government interference! Or, you know, lots of people maybe not dying of something easily treatable.
That Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Brandon — the one for which Hillsborough County handed over a mind-boggling degree of incentives — finally has an opening date at the end of July. I heard Montana is taking all of August off to come down for the occasion. (Just kidding. There are, like, a dozen identical Outdoor Worlds between Montana and here.)
And finally, a Tampa couple allegedly assaulted Hillsborough deputies when the cops came to question one of the two about a stabbing. "They radiated innocence," said none of the cops later from the back of an ambulance.
