OK, so, while the pundits and politicos in Cleveland were busy throwing up and making the party's nadir official, let's see what the hell else went on yesterday.

Pinellas County came up with a list of 10 possible sites for a new Rays stadium in its bid to keep the team from moving to Hillsborough. So I guess we've reached the "bargaining" stage of the So You're Losing Your Underperforming National Sports Franchise grief process, then.

"Universal" single-stall bathrooms are coming to Hillsborough County schools by the time the kids return in the fall. The bathrooms were formerly the province of employees, will be open to anyone regardless of gender identity, and should be easily recognizable by the signs on their doors saying "This Is Our Attempt At Avoiding The Issue, And We're Missing The Point."

And finally, Tampa and Hillsborough officials are being urged to sign off on that St. Pete-to-downtown ferry test period before the August 1 deadline passes. The officials apologized for the delay, explaining that they've been busy lately fighting over an underperforming national sports franchise and trying to give trans kids a place to go to the bathroom at school without letting them use the regular ones.
