It's lunch hour on a Tuesday afternoon and I'm doing what every descent red-blooded American that has managed to keep their job is doing — I'm using the company's bandwidth to watch videos. Today has been especially good and I thought I'd share some with y'all:
- My distaste for Pitchfork has been well documented on my web site but today on the video portion of the net rag's site, they've redeemed themselves for a week. Real-life bad muthafucker (sorry Samuel), Andre Williams is the focus of the documentary, Agile Mobile Hostile and PitchforkTV is streaming the entire thing. Go Watch It Now!
- By now you'd have to be living under a rock to not know that Jane's Addiction has reunited complete with the original lineup and is gonna hit the road with Trent Reznor for NIN's current farewell tour. The band has been quietly playing shows around LA and some of last night's performance at the Echoplex was caught on video. Here are the links: 1%, Stop, Mountain Song, Ocean Size
- Where's the Beef? Apparently, it's all over the dance floor. Admittedly, the Flight of the Conchords songs have been pretty weak this season but their tune, "Too Many Dicks On The Dance Floor" is doing its best to make up for the lack. Feels like 1993 at DNA from time to time.
- Dan Auerbach, singer/guitarist of The Black Keys, was on Conan last night in support of his solo album, Keep It Hid. Watch it here.
- No video here, but did you know that Violent Femmes frontman, Gordon Gano is working on a new project? No? Well neither did I until today. Go check out their myspace profile.
- Finally, I was pleasantly directed to a Gillian Welch and Old Crow Medicine Show cover of The Band's song, "The Weight," by Muzzle of Bees. This thing is too awesome to just post a link so I'm embedding the video. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I am:
