That's why South Tampa's Monaco Salon teamed up with local marketing firm Startup Street to help you help the American Heart Association in a way that's fun and, well, helpful.
The American Heart Association, after all, is dedicated to its ongoing effort to put an end to heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the U.S., according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics.
The promotion, which starts Thursday, is a way to show your generosity while getting a temporary update to your style.
For $10, half of which goes to the American Heart Association, visitors to the salon can get a customized faux red highlight expertly clipped into their hair to show their support for finding a way to defeat the devastating disease.
Guests are also encouraged to share a picture of themselves with their new 'do on social media using the hashtags #GoRedforWomen and #GoRedWearRed to help spread awareness.
The promotion is running from February 23 through the end of the month.
February is National Heart Month, so salon owner Krista Abad said she hopes to make this an annual campaign.
“We hope to invite everyone down to the salon on the 23rd [to] help us support the American Heart Association and the fight to end heart disease,” Abad said.
