For its 23rd annual fashion and design expo, IMAGINE 2008, International Academy of Design and Technology teams up with the American Heart Association to fight heart disease in style via the Red Dress Project. This unique awareness-raising aspect of the event spotlights 14 original garments that were created by IADT fashion design students and reflect the stories of 14 local heart disease survivors. The garments are modeled at the New York-style runway show along with original creations by more than 60 of IADT's budding designers, with concepts ranging from everyday fashion to candy-inspired costumes. A team from Aveda Institutes experiments with modern and avant-garde hair and makeup styles to complement the garments. Get your tickets now, and be ready to enjoy an evening of goodwill and electric fashion. Sat., June 14, 8 p.m., A La Carte Pavilion, 4050 Dana Shores Drive, Tampa, $20, 813-889-3450, academy.edu.
