In what might be the final official mayoral forum of the 2011 campaign season, the 5 candidates running to lead Tampa squared off in a forum in the Forest Hills section of North Tampa last night, and of course we were there to provide you the highlights.
CL spoke yesterday with Tampa City Council candidate in District 3 Michael Ciftci yesterday, who is angry at a report published in Sunday's St. Petersburg Times about his work with an alternative energy group here in Tampa that led to him getting a $100,000 state grant to do work in Haiti. And Hillsborough County and Tampa may be getting serious about consolidating services, what with the massive budget deficits both local governments face, some would say it's about time.
