Don't go sticking your withered tannenbaum in the dumpster after the holidays, St. Pete folks, let the city turn it into "Yuletide" mulch. On Saturday, January 8th, get your tree picked up by city Sanitation crews at no charge and they'll take it to be recycled into usable mulch.

According to The City of St. Pete's website, "the trees are ground into a sweet smelling mulch which is mixed with standard mulch and is available free at each brush site (bring your own shovels and containers). The mulch is free for residents to pick up and is also used by the city to landscape city parks, golf courses and other facilities."
