Fine art printmaking takes center stage at the Dunedin Fine Art Center beginning this Friday with the opening of three exclusive exhibits. The juried 15th Florida Printmakers National Competition features an array of contemporary prints with the Best in Show to be chosen by FSU Art Department Chair Joe Sanders, who's been a printmaking and book arts instructor for nearly two decades. Theater of the Mind — another juried exhibit, this one judged by John A. Stewart — consists of 20 prints that represent a variety of printmaking techniques, from etchings and photogravures to linocuts, woodcuts, lithographs, screenprints and monoprints. Finally, DFAC flaunts the talent of its own printmaking program with Printmakers of DFAC, a display of works by the center's printmaking faculty and students. A reception party for all of the exhibits occurs from 7 to 9 p.m. Fri., Jan. 12, with a special 6 p.m. lecture by Sanders ($5 general admission/free to members). Jan. 12-Feb. 25, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat., 1-4 p.m. Sun., 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin, free admission, 727-298-3322, dfac.org.
