The Surfrider Foundation and Planet Green are partnering to bring viewers the second installment of Blue August. If you are not in the know, Blue August is a month long programming event focusing on the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches, and waterways. The goal: educate the world on the necessity of our natural waterways while encouraging volunteerism and enlightening on the imperative need to protect them.

The programming hosts, Philippe Cousteau, chief oceans correspondent for Planet Green, and his sister, leading water conservationist Alexandra Cousteau, address issues concerning water quality to the Gulf oil spill.

Watch the video below for a sneak peak of the Surfrider Foundation’s latest public service announcement that will be airing this month on Planet Green, featuring professional surfer Laird Hamilton who speaks out on the dangers of offshore drilling. Laird stands behind the foundation’s Not The Answer Campaign (www.nottheanswer.org) and encourages one and all to take a stand.
