According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will bring a line of thunderstorms through the region Monday afternoon. The storms are forecasted to bring high speed winds, heavy rain and “deadly lightning strikes.”
The greatest hazards will be high winds of up to 60 miles per hour, and penny-sized hail, say forecasters with the NWS. The service also issued a rip current warning for the area's beaches.
With a 20% chance of rain this evening, the storms are expected to clear up by tomorrow, but even with the cold front causing these storms, Tuesday's high is expected to be 85 degrees.
