This Saturday, the Gay Commie Skate Crew—known for its radical activism and wild skate sessions—will host a donation drive to collect warm clothes for those in need this holiday season.

There will be skating during the event (of course), as well as an ugly sweater contest, so come dressed in your favorite worst gift from your well-intentioned aunt.

The drive takes place this Saturday at DeSoto Skate Park located at 2617 Corrine St., from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

GCSC says unisex and men’s size warm clothing are in high demand. The group is also accepting gloves, hand warmers, blankets and socks to help keep people warm as December temperatures set in. The group also encourages people to swap clothes during the gathering.

Donations that are not swapped will be donated from GCSC to the Tropical Communist Party, a group that feeds and clothes people every Saturday in Tampa, and helps people organize to protect themselves from evictions.

“GCSC has and always will continue to help and serve our community on and off skates,” GCSC wrote in a post about the event. “Thank you for following us on our lil journey. Hope to see ya there!”
