Unquestionably, Chief Financial Officer Bonnie Wise has been one of Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio's most valuable players, and there had been some discussion about whether the new administration that will soon take over at City Hall might want to retain her.
That question is academic now that Wise announced today that she will be leaving the Iorio administration and – pending approval from the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners – become Chief Financial Officer in Hillsborough County.
In a letter written to Iorio today, Wise writes that the CFO job with the County will allow her to continue to serve the citizens of Tampa, and "expand this service to the citizens of the entire County."
No doubt some other officials at City Hall may be looking for new employment, as Mayor Iorio's reign in office is in its waning weeks.
Among the candidates vying to succeed her, Dick Greco continues to discuss various"people" that he says he has already lined up to take over certain positions in city government, should he be elected next month.
