Earlier this year, No Straws St. Pete began rallying local residents to lessen their carbon footprint. St. Petersburg’s neighbor across the bay, Tampa, will soon start doing the same.
A campaign kickoff for Tampa’s Skip the Straw Challenge is scheduled for the Florida Aquarium at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. This is the city’s first coordinated effort to reduce its use of plastic straws.
