Just spoke with Jim Reed, No. 2 over at the Supervisor of Elections Office. He said voting is going smoothly, and he estimated a 14 percent turnout when all is said and done. (Ya hear that, JZ?)

The Times has a sampling of (mostly male) voters' comments over at The Buzz. They are overwhelmingly for Joe Redner.

I was struck this morning in South Tampa by the near total lack of Redner signs at precincts and the glut of Gwen Miller signs and supporters. CAUTION: That doesn't mean Miller wins, but it is clear that she has GOTV forces on the streets today and that doesn't hurt.

Oh, and one last thing: in speaking with Redner yesterday, he was ecstatic with the results he was getting from his telephone banks and predicted a 60 percent win. You may ingest that large grain of salt right about now, as you should when any politician touts his/her polls or chances in an election.
