A historic gothic church that was converted into a home is back on the market in the Port Tampa neighborhood.
Located at 7002 S Shamrock Rd., the Port Tampa Episcopal Church was built between 1888-1900, and was then abandoned sometime in the 1920s, according to the Tampa Tribune.
While it’s unknown exactly when it was converted to a home, the earliest residential records for the property date back to 1931.
Today, the 1,665-square-foot church comes with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as historic barstools from Port Tampaโs Keltonโs Drug Store, a refurbished 1923 clawfoot bathtub, a detached two-car garage, an oversized lot, and more.
Though there’s been quite a few upgrades, the home still maintains the historic front door and wood beams. The original stained glass windows from the church were removed years ago, but can still be found at the St. James Episcopal House of Prayer, also known as the “Rock Church,” in Tampa Heights.
The home was last sold in 2021 for $375,00, and is currently asking $498,000. The listing agent is Karen Fate of Keller Williams Tampa Central.
