Now that commercial flights are leaving from Tampa to Cuba, the current acting chair of the Tampa City Council, Mary Mulhern, says she is returning to the Communist Island to discuss increasing Tampa’s legal trade with that nation.
This is not the Council woman's first sojourn to Cuba; she was part of a delegation of local business leaders who traveled there in 2009.
The first flight direct flight from Tampa International Airport to Cuba takes place this afternoon. Because of her duties on the council, Mulhern will fly there on Friday.
