Facing an over $27 million budget deficit, Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio announced today in a letter to City Council members that after completing a review of the city's organizational structure, she has identified "additional efficiencies and consolidation opportunities" that will ultimately result in "$3 million in savings from salaries and benefits."
In other words, nine people were told today that they have only 90 days left on the job.
In addition, according to Human Resource Manager Kimberly Crum, several other positions will be eliminated. Four that are vacant right now, and 5 people in the Utility Accounting Divisions will lose their job sometime in the next few months.
