Last week, our print alter ego, the Weekly Planet, published a story we called "The Must-Do List: 100 things you gotta do" in order to consider yourself a "true"
Tampa Bay resident. As the story explains, it was a lark that started when we realized at a staff meeting that one of our own had never had breakfast at Skyway Jacks, that bastion of eating off a hangover on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The story has prompted a spate of test-taking and bragging on scores throughout the blogosphere. Shout-outs to Sticks of Fire for leading a lengthy discussion on the subject (Tommy scored a 77; Bubba likes it! scored a 29; Canoworms blog scored a 28.)
Our scores on staff were pretty good, although not as strong as you might think given that we wrote the list. A testament to the collaborative nature of these kinds of cover stories. The high scores went to loooongtime resident Eric Snider and the out-and-about Scott Harrell. I'll update the blog with everyone's actual scores as soon as the staff gets in this A.M. (We're not early risers.) I do know my own score, and it is lower than I would like: Wayne Garcia, 58.
The rest:
Joe Bardi — 53
Alex Pickett — 38 (has lived here only a month, but counted some things from his previous time in Tampa Bay.)
Leslie Mattern — 53
Scott Harrell — 73
Anne Arsenault — 69
Eric Snider — 73
Doug Tuthill — 73
David Warner — 43
So read the story, take the test and tell us: What's your score?
