Just got sent a video link to The Beat's "Don't Wait Up for Me" from their 1979 self-titled debut. On the same page, I found The Donnas' "Don't Wait Up for Me" from 2007's Bitchin'. Two songs with the same name = two very different outcomes. [The songs only share a name, not lyrics, content or style.]

The first is low-quality, retro, not really a video at all but the band performing on a soundstage, all men in modwear and with moderately bad hair — but the music is pretty fun stuff, early West Coast power pop; the second bland alternative rock, the video professionally produced and thus rather nice to look at, the band a group of hot chicks with moderate talent who are also rather nice to look at. Which is better? I'm partial to The Beat. Check them out and tell me what you think:
