As re-openings surge and restrictions are lifted amid Florida’s Phase II plan for getting back to “normal,” the City of St. Petersburg is taking an extra step to encourage public safety.
The city announced Tuesday it will be offering St. Pete residents free masks at several locations. The masks are black and each have an embroidered teal pelican on them. They can be picked up during each site’s normal hours of operation and are available while supplies last.
Pick up sites include:
- Azalea Recreation Center, 1600 72nd St. N.
- Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S.
- Imagine Museum, 1901 Central Ave.
- PSTA Stations, Grand Central and Williams Park
- USF St. Pete, 200 6th Ave. S.
- Fossil Park Fire Station, 875 64th Ave. N.
- People Empowering & Restoring Communities, 1601 16th St. S.
“Make sure you wear them!” said Mayor Rick Kriseman in a tweet. “They’re not souvenirs, they save lives.”
The St. Pete-branded masks have been a big hit and some locations, such as Fossil Park Fire Station and the Imagine Museum, have already run out. Many more coming soon! We will let you know as distributions sites get restocked. pic.twitter.com/iAIlRo8zGu
