Uganda's parliament has removed a debate over a controversial anti-gay bill from today's agenda, following global outcry from world leaders, human rights groups and Internet campaigns. The original version of the proposed bill, first introduced in 2009, mandated the dealth penalty for active homosexuals living with HIV or in cases of same-sex rape and life in prison for anyone convicted of a homosexual act.
