New book raises awareness about recycling in Florida Public Schools. Local author Stephanie Armenia wants to raise awareness about recycling in Florida public schools. She has designed an exciting new outreach to encourage the habit of recycling early in life by focusing on second graders and plastic water bottles. Sponsors are needed to help underwrite the cost of printing these educational books.
EarthTalk: Toxic ingredients in cleaning products. The government only requires companies to list "chemicals of known concern" on their labels. And the operative word is "known," because the government has no idea whether most of the chemicals used in everyday cleaning products are safe because it doesn't test them, and it doesn't require manufacturers to test them either.
Have your disposable cup and eat it, too! New vegan edible cups are tasty and biodegradable. The cups are entirely biodegradable and are made from agar agar, making it vegan as well. The come in three different flavors at the moment: lemon-basil, ginger-mint, and rosemary-beet — flavored to complement particular drinks that one might drink out of one's Jell-O cups.
