The new feature, Uber Pet, kicked off today and only a handful of cities, including Tampa Bay region, will get the opportunity to test it out.
The new option is available in the regular Uber app, and allows passengers to pay a $4 fee after selecting “Uber Pet.” Initially, only one pet is allowed per ride, unless the driver says otherwise. The option isn't just limited to cats and dogs, yes, even the fishes and turtles can tag along.
Prior to the launch of Uber Pet, trying to get your pet onboard an Uber was difficult and left to the discretion of the driver. There wasn’t a way to notify the Uber in advance, so many were often rolling the dice.

Today we are excited to announce the pilot of Uber Pet across select cities in the US — because pets have places to go too.
