While construction on USF's Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) continued across the street, a host of local officials involved with the project held a news conference Monday morning in downtown Tampa.
The theme? That projects like CAMLS are going to continue bringing high-quality jobs to Tampa.
Officials say CAMLS will provide a state-of-the-art training and research facility for doctors and nurses locally and from across the country, looking at new systems of delivering health care that will improve patient safety, reduce medical errors and improve patient outcomes.
Citing CAMLS, Congresswoman Kathy Castor said the way that Tampa Bay will recover from the recession is by becoming one of the "premiere health innovation capitals in the U.S."
