Originally reported in the guardian.com, a 23-year-old London woman of Pakistani descent was arrested in Dubai after being raped by a waiter at a luxury hotel. The woman was staying in Dubai for a three day New Years vacation when her 44-year-old boyfriend proposed. Celebrating the engagement, the woman became inebriated and lost consciousness in the woman’s restroom of the Address hotel.
A waiter who worked at the hotel allegedly followed her into the bathroom and raped the woman, who was in a semi-conscious state. Unaware of what had happened, her fiancé found her later and took her back to their room.
