In his poem "Liquid Paper," Peter Meinke investigates absolution and the notion of a clean slate with playful leaps of logic and the rambling style for which he's so well known. The talented wordsmith has won copious awards for this clever use of language and flow, and in the midst of a busy writer-in-residence schedule at various colleges and universities across the country, he continues to be a prolific voice in poetry. A retired Eckerd College professor, Meinke is a local favorite who appears in Tampa this week to read from and sign copies of The Contracted World: New & More Selected Poems, his most recent collection. Thurs., Feb. 9, 7 p.m., Inkwood Books, 216 S. Armenia Ave., Tampa, 813-253-2638.
