' Murray, a.k.a. Chris Murray, is not a flashy dude with tons of material possessions, but he has one item of sentimental value that he cares a good deal about: his motorcycle helmet, "El Stupido."
He wrote in an e-mail yesterday to CL (March 21): "I bought the helmet when (Bryon Lippincott of New Bruises), Fred (Maue), Mike Sullivan (Skull) and I were living outside of Dallas in 2003. I moved back to Pennsylvania in 2004 where I met my ex-wife. She painted the winged-heart that's on the front of the helmet. This is the only thing I kept from that marriage. Even though the relationship didn't work out, the helmet lived on. I replaced the heart with the gas can sticker from local band Light Yourself on Fire. The helmet's just been with me ever since and has ridden with me from Pennsylvania to Florida and a lot of places through the mountains in Pa. and the flatlands of Florida. It's kind of a icon among my friends — 'yup, that's Murray's' … but hey, it's the sentiment."
Murray said the helmet was last seen when he went with play pool with a friend at the Rack on Platt Street, Tampa.
On Mon., March 20, he posted this alert on Facebook: "Tampa folks!! If ya see some idiot running around town with my motorcycle helmet…….tackle that bastard beat their ass and let me know!! Someone stole my stickered up, lots of history, had it a long time helmet!!!! If ya see it…..give a shout!!!! Bastards……"
