✔️ Reckless Kelly w/Nikki Lane/Dale Watson and his Lone Stars/Jason D. Williams/Oak Hill Drifters Ah, the fruits of the sold-out Outlaw Country Cruise leaving from Port Tampa are falling all over the Bay area during the next week or so, and this bill put together by community radio station WMNF 88.5-FM is definitely a beneficiary. Orlando outfit the Oak Hill Drifters is the only band on this bill not setting sail, and while Idaho country-rock (Reckless Kelly), Arkansas-born boogie (Jason D. Williams) and Texas “Ameripolitan” (Dale Watson) are all intriguing, we’re most hyped up about the arrival of Nashville songwriter Nikki Lane. The 35-year-old technically debuted at downtown Tampa’s Pig Jig in 2015, but her Bay area coming-out party happened one year ago at Gasparilla Music Festival. It’ll be a treat to get up close and personal with the honky-tonk highway queen under the lights of the Skipperdome. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa) INFO
The Florida Orchestra: Star Wars Live In Concert The Florida Orchestra is in tribute mode this weekend with a Friday-night show dedicated to Tom Petty and this Saturday, one night only, gig where Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back will play in the background while TFO plays John Williams’ iconic score live. Most definitely wear a costume if you have it. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO
Garden Club w/Danny & Alex CL was hyped to see these two bands on one bill back in December, but then Danny & Alex went and broke our hearts by having to cancel their appearance. Fingers crossed this time around as two of Tampa Bay’s most promising, young pop and jazz bands team up for this art show and concert at the very cozy Black Crow coffee. (Black Crow Coffee Co., St. Petersburg) INFO
Houseparilla w/Doc Martin/Lisa Shaw/Jask/Chang/Coro/Alvaro/DJ Kiko/more If you’re a Gasparilla reveler reading this trying to find some good live music, then you obviously haven’t had enough to drink. Anyone searching for some good house music happening at a block party built around Tampa’s annual day of debauchery, however, is in luck. A genre legend (Doc Martin) is set to spin at Hyde Park Café along with a local heavyweight (Jask), and there’ll even be a live set from Toronto house, funk and soul star Lisa Shaw. (Hyde Park Café, Tampa) INFO
Shipwrecked Music Festival w/Green Velvet/Dateless/The Gallows/Bleep Bloop/um…/more Hyde Park Cafés “Houseparilla” block party isn’t the only electronic music shindig happening on Saturday. “Shipwrecked” will be much wubbier and more expansive that the aforementioned South Tampa get-down thanks to a menagerie of outer space bass (Bleep Bloop), techno (Green Velvet), tumba (Dateless) and dubstep (um…) that’s set to take over two stages while a Silent Disco quietly rages on a third. (Circulo Cubano de Tampa, Ybor City) INFO

✔️ Jim Lauderdale w/Bryan Elijah Smith Another splash of Outlaw Country Cruise spillover happens when Nashville elder Jim Lauderdale plays an intimate listening room set in Ybor. The 61-year-old just gave fans an unreleased late-’70s album he made with Bluegrass Hall of Fame inductee Roland White, and fans know all about the songs he’s written for the likes of some Georges (Strait, Jones), Patty Loveless and Vince Gill, so there’s really no telling what Lauderdale will pull out of the hat for anyone lucky enough to get a ticket to this gig where Shenandoah Valley songwriter Bryan Elijah Smith opens the show. (The Attic at Rock Brothers Brewing, Ybor City) INFO
Melanie This Safety Harbor venue’s second sold-out show of the weekend features Emmy award-winning 70s folk and pop star Melanie. You should probably bookmark SHAMc’s website if you’re sick of missing out on shows. (Safety Harbor Art and Music Center, Safety Harbor) SOLD OUT
✔️ Pete Yorn Pete Yorn’s surprisingly spare, 18-year-old discography features just seven studio albums, but the songs within it (literally) strike all the right chords. The output is also packed with lyrical matter that turns the mundane details of life into meaningful reflections on what our existences might mean. Yorn, 44, promises to play stuff from all of his records at this solo show, which is part of his first visit to Florida since 2011. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO
Gaither Vocal Band CL loves local, but this has nothing to do with a high school chorus from Tampa. Southern gospel icon Bill Gaither reunited with past members of his vocal band last year, and some of that energy from the one-off reunion weekend should spill over into this gig where the 82-year-old brings some young guys to help him work through a life’s worth of God-fearing, Grammy and Dove award-winning material. (First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, Indian Rocks Beach) INFO
Robert “Freightrain” Parker w/Sarah Parker Last weekend saw the nation reckon with video of a MAGA-hat wearing Kentucky Catholic school boy taunting a Native American elder and veteran in Washington D.C. Here’s a reminder that America’s original citizens have been contributing to all facets of ancient and modern American life for years. Robert “Freightrain” Parker has a 2018 Indigenous Music Awards for The Best Blues Album under his belt, and he’s bringing it — along with his Native American heritage — to the ‘burbs this weekend. (Carrollwood Cultural Center, Tampa) INFO
9 Lives Art Show w/DJ Gabe Echazabal Cat lovers, it’s time to get out of the house. You won’t be able to bring your leashed feline friends (Shuffle serves food), but you will be able to enjoy the work of nine Bay area artists at the 9 Lives all-cat themed art show. Cory Robinson and Scumrag (Heights Walls on Franklin) will be there along with Krystal Ralph (some of the best tats in town), Chris Preston, Megasupremo, MilliMisa, Counttrillions and more. Free to attend, and CL's very own Gabe Echazabal plays DJ. (Shuffle, Tampa) INFO
