The first thing I do in every new city I visit is pick up the alt-weekly to see which shows are happening where. What I hope to find is a booking that paints a good picture of what parts of the local scene might be like.

This Hump Day gig would be a must-attend for me. It features three of the Bay area’s longest-running, and most respected, punk songwriters in one of Sulphur Springs’ coziest dives, playing solo sets in honor of local music lover Bruce Reiss’ 65th birthday. No cover, and Shawn Watkins (drummer for another revered Tampa punk band, Tim Version) is guest bartending.
