Tampa Bay is gearing up to welcome six new locations of the Louisiana-based sports bar and restaurant franchise, Walk-On Bistreaux & Bar.

Franchise owner and CEO of Walking Tall Brands LLC, Mike Lester, told TBBJ that the first of six locations is set to open in 2020, although an official location can't be shared until the leasing details are finalized.

“I think there’s a need for this restaurant in this area,” Lester told the publication. “People like sports. They’re looking for family restaurants that emphasize good food and a people first atmosphere.”

The other five locations should be spread throughout Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee and Marion counties.

The menu serves All-American menu items with a taste of Louisiana. Guests can expect a sports bar menu as well as a heavy Louisiana cuisine influence with dishes like burgers, loaded nachos as well as Crawfish Etou-Ways (crawfish etouffee, rice, fried crawfish, garlic bread) and duck and andouille gumbo.

More details to come on forthcoming locations as leases are finalized and construction begins.
