If Béla Fleck played the steelpan, he might be Jonathan Scales.

On the experimental side of jazz fusion, Scales, 40, has redrawn the lines for pannists while managing to still celebrate the origins of the Trini instrument.

He plays The Moon Tower—a Pinellas bastion of free speech and expression that is hosting its first ticketed show—alongside bassist E’Lon JD and drummer Maison Guidry who’ll help bring the Scales sound to life.

Tickets to see Jonathan Scales Fourchestra play The Moon Tower in Dunedin on Thursday, Feb. 20 are still available for $15.
