Ol’ Dirty Sundays w/Skratch Bastid Juno Award-nominated turntablist Paul Murphy is global ambassador for Red Bull’s excellent Thre3style DJ competition, but don’t let his reputation (or penchant for throwing killer “Bastid BBQ” block parties with cats like Z-Trip, Jazzy Jeff and DJ Premiere) be the reason you go to Crowbar to see the man they call Skratch Bastid. Just YouTube the 35-year-old’s ridiculous tribute to the late, great David Bowie to get your mind blown. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

✔️ of Montreal w/Christina Schneider’s Genius Grant/Pajamas The freak prince of indie-rock comes back to Ybor to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, the Athens, Georgia composer’s boundary-breaking meditation on life changes (a new child, depression, marital problems). The grower of an LP is one of Polyvinyl Records’ best-selling titles, and Barnes — a borderline genius and alum of the envelope-pushing Elephant 6 collective, home to Apples in Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel and Minders — is famous for psychedelic, sometimes shocking, live sets that bring his records to life. NYC composer Christina Schneider (who describes her own psych-pop as sounding “like if Katy Perry was laughing but she wasn’t popular”) opens the show along with Tampa Bay electro-pop maker Pajamas. ✔️ New Music Masterworks w/Sarah Cahill Sarah Cahill is a young pianist the New York Times has described as “sterling…an intrepid illuminator of the classical avant-garde,” and she is used to performing in non-traditional spaces. (Cahill, who also has a weekly radio show on San Fran’s KALW 91.7 FM, recently played the music of Henry Cowell at San Quentin State Prison where he was imprisoned for four years.) Cahill will perform a solo piano program of “Lou Harrison and His Circle” in St. Pete featuring the Asia-loving American composer’s Range-Song and Jig, “Conductus” from the suite “The Changing Moment,” and “Summerfield Set,” alongside works by his friends and colleagues, including Cowell, John Cage, Johanna Beyer, James Cleghorn, and Frank Wigglesworth. Admission is free, but reservations are advised. (St. Petersburg Main Library) INFO
