But one Kate Bradshaw is taking a few moments out of her political musings to tell you what you should do with your fleeting time and hard-earned cash. Spoiler: though she tends to be humble, she wants you to see her band, so some shameless self-promotion is thus likely forthcoming.
Friday
Heyo. K-Brad here. Tonight I will be rehearsing with my band, Moon Mammoth, for our set at tomorrow's Earth Day fest. But if I wasn't engaged in perfecting Moon Mammoth's sweet psychedelic sounds for tomorrow's 1:15 set, I would be doing one of several things this evening. In all likelihood I would head to Demens Landing to check out American Stage's production of Hairspray. Or thumb through books older than my parents at the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair at the St. Pete Coliseum (which is all weekend). Or check out some arty things at Mainsail Arts Festival. But, in all honesty, I'd be most inclined to head to the beach for sunset and a nice glass of bone-dry bubbly.
Saturday
But Saturday. Oh, Saturday. You should totally go to Williams Park for St. Pete Earth Day, a daylong celebration of Planet Earth, what with it being Earth Day and all. Moon Mammoth is playing at 1:15, but the bill is packed with amazing bands, like Apple Butter Express and Grateful Dead tribute act Uncle John's Band, the latter of which headlines in the evening. And don't worry — there will be plenty of delicious beer, served in sustainable receptacles. You can also do the March For Science, which is worthwhile what with the current political climate and all. There's also the Renegades for Science pub crawl in St. Pete., which should be a blast (pace yourself, amigos!). You can also head to the Tampa Bay G.I.R.L.S. Rock Awards Show and honor nine women who make a difference in Tampa Bay's black community.
Sunday
That was a lot to pack into a Saturday, wasn't it? Especially after getting totally blown away by that band Moon Mammoth so early in the day. You deserve to take it easy today. Come hang with us at CL's Veg Out/Bloody Mary competition, also in Williams Park. Bloody Marys are why they have Sundays.
