The Buccaneers fell in the forest Saturday night and only 42,640 people heard anything as they fell to Florida's armpit, the Jacksonville Jaguars, 19-13. The loss was clinched by quarterback and ex-Buc Luke McCown's touchdown pass late in the 3rd quarter. Sure glad he's not on our team anymore, we are loaded at QB. Loaded, I tell you!
The defense was pretty black and white, highlighted by LB Quincy Black and DE Styles White (see what I did there?) harassing the quarterback and holding the offense to a single touchdown for the third week in a row. For those of you scoring at home (what the hell does that mean anyway), that's the exact amount of touchdown catches WR Michael Clayton has caught in his last five seasons combined. The LSU uber-bust was regulated to special teams only Saturday but is still confident he'll make the 53-man roster this time next week, which begs the question, what's the weather like up your ass, Michael?
The Bucs travel to Houston to close out the preseason Thursday evening which will guarantee three things: no blackouts, no starters and no blackouts (the third one is a promise to myself. I really need to cut back on the suds).
And that's a series, people. Thanks for coming, watch your step, drive safe and we'll see you back at the Trop after we get the Sox-stank out. My God, it's everywhere. The Rays sent the Red Sucks back to Bah-ston losing the game, the weekend series, the season series and perhaps (fingers and toes crossed) the 2010 season Sunday night as pitcher James Shields now sits alone with the franchise record for starts and wins. The only thing better than a series victory is when it comes at the expense of Boston, a city with the arrogance of New York coupled with the refinement of Jersey, with just a touch of Philadelphia intellect to form a perfectly toxic burrito guaranteed to cause explosive diarrhea. Suck it, Sox fans. The only thing that can make this weekend any better is if they fired some douchebag from ESPN local radio. Hold on. What? Hooray!
