Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s plan to reopen to the public on June 11 has now been approved by Hillsborough County and Tampa mayor Jane Castor.

Still waiting for approval from Governor Ron DeSantis, the park, along with Adventure Island water park across the street, is planning to host an employee appreciation day June 10 and open its doors to the public the following day with increased safety precautions.

Physical barriers, ground markings and signs will be utilized to promote social distancing, according to the park’s plan for reopen. Facial coverings will be required for employees and all guests over the age of 2. Guests are encouraged to bring their own masks and will have their temperatures checked before entering the park.

Throughout the park, guests can expect to see directional and informational signage, plexiglass in high-traffic areas, increased hand sanitizer stations and modified seating on rides and in eating areas. Certain park components, like character meet-and-greets, tours and parades, will be limited or removed completely depending on the park’s ability to ensure distancing between guests.

The park will also encourage contactless payment methods, single direction guest flow in some areas and will only place guests from the same party together on rides.

Open play areas will be temporarily closed, while waterpark attractions will be open at limited capacity.

Along with Busch Gardens, SeaWorld’s Orlando Parks and Disney World have also recently initiated plans for reopening and await final approval from Governor DeSantis.
