Originally pioneered in the 80s by acoustic guitarists Greg Carmichael and Nick Webb, the longtime smooth and silky British nu-jazz project otherwise known as Acoustic Alchemy was re-arranged in 1999 after Webbs death and became the fulltime instrumental project of Carmichael (on nylon string guitar) and Miles Gilderdale (on electric and steel string acoustic guitar). Acoustic Alchemy has released 18 albums, including a second compilation, 2009s The Very Best of Acoustic Alchemy Vol 2., and are currently touring with a full backing band of musicians on keys, drums and percs, bass, and possibly some sexy sax.
